GREATER HEDGEHOG TENREC

The Greater Hedgehog Tenrec is only native to Madagascar, where they live in dry forests, farmland and urban areas.

Despite their name and appearance, they are not closely related to hedgehogs.

They are omnivores (eat both plants and animals) and primarily eat insects but will also eat small mammals and occasionally fruit.

Lifespan – 10-13 years
