  • Lifespan: 60 – 100 years.
  • IUCN Status: The Moluccan Cockatoo, also known as the Salmon-crested Cockatoo, is listed as Vulnerable to extinction due to its rapid decline in the wild.
  • Fun Fact: Since 1989, it has also been listed on Appendix I of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) which makes it illegal to trade in wild caught birds. This species is known as one of the most demanding parrot species to keep.
