What safety measures are All Things Wild implementing?
The safety of staff, visitors and animals is of paramount importance to us, and we have reviewed all of our procedures in line with government guidance, making numerous changes across the park to maximise safety.
- Our visitor entrance has changed to an outdoor kiosk so please look out for new signage when you arrive that will point you in the direction of our new outdoor entrance.
- We have implemented a one-way route around the park so visitors can enjoy their day and avoid crowds. There will also be arrows, signage and barriers to mark the way.
- There will be no paper maps available on the day, however we have put a copy of the map clearly showing the one way system for you to download prior to your visit.
- We have plenty of hand washing facilities, including sinks in restrooms and hand wash stations, around our park. Download the map for the locations or look out for signage on your visit.
- Our team have increased our cleaning schedule throughout the day, across our site.
- In our toilet facilities, we ask our visitors to follow social distancing, and if cubicles are engaged please queue on the markers outside. We ask visitors to remember to wash hands before and after using our toilet facilities. If you need to pass another person whilst entering or exiting, in line with government guidance, we ask that you turn your back to them as you walk past. A member of our team will regularly check on toilet facilities across the zoo, ensuring they are clean and soap dispensers are full.
- We ask that we all work together to follow social distancing around All Things Wild, and we politely remind our visitors to keep apart from visitors from other households. Social distancing markers and signage are located around our zoo as reminders. Visitors who persistently disregard the government’s social distancing guidelines will be asked to leave.
- If you are not feeling well with either one or more of the symptoms of Covid-19 – a fever, dry cough, loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, headache or difficulty breathing – please do not visit All Things Wild, stay at home and follow government and NHS 111 advice. We’ll be here once you’re symptom-free and better.

Do I need to check in, via the NHS Track and Trace App?
We have our QR code for the NHS track and trace app, located at the entrance of the park that we encourage our visitors to use. You are now required by law to provide details of ALL visitors over the age of 16 that enter the Cafe. The lead member of the party, who has entered their details upon booking online is not required to enter them again via the app. If you do not have the app, you will be asked to manually fill in contact details on a form.
Do I need to pre-book or can I just turn up on the day?
All ticket types, including Annual Members, need to be pre booked and allocated a time slot. Visitors will not be able to purchase admission tickets from the entry kiosk at All Things Wild. We have restricted the number of admissions per day to ensure visitors and staff can safely keep to the social distancing requirements around the park. When booking online, visitors and All Things Wild Members will be required to choose an arrival timeslot. Timeslots are in place so that we can manage the number of people that arrive throughout the day, and to control the number of people in the park.
Why can’t I book far in advance?
Due to current uncertainties, and guidelines often changing, we are currently only releasing tickets up to a couple of weeks in advance.
I need to transfer my booking, can I do this?
Tickets can be transferred for an administration fee*. Please create an account at the time of booking, which allows you to alter your own booking for a fee of £2 per ticket (maximum of £10 per booking). If an account has not been made, please email [email protected] with your reference number and date you wish to switch to, we can then transfer your date manually for an increased fee of £3 per ticket (maximum of £15 per booking). ALL transfers must be done at least 3 hours before your booking, to allow us to re-release the tickets. Tickets with discount codes/offers cannot be changed.
*If your transfer is due to a positive COVID test within your household/bubble or being told to self isolate by NHS track and trace or a school, then please email [email protected] with proof of your circumstances and a date past 10 days of your original booking for us to transfer your tickets to.
I have a gift ticket or free entry ticket do I need to book?
Yes, please contact our team on [email protected] outlining what your voucher is so that we can arrange your booking. All tickets require pre-booking in order to be allocated an entrance time slot and are included within our restricted visitor numbers. Please wait for confirmation from our team before you plan on visiting All Things Wild.
Is there a discount on admission?
Our ticket prices are currently at a discounted rate, due to some areas of the park being closed.
Despite being closed for various periods of time over the last year, our costs have continued throughout this time. To run the zoo it costs over £30,000 a month and our 550 animals still require the same high standard of care regardless if we are open or closed. We hope our visitors will understand this and be happy to support us in the knowledge that their admission fee is helping to protect the future of our All Things Wild, for years to come.
Will I be able to arrive at the zoo outside of my allocated arrival time?
Allocated arrival times are in place so that we can ensure visitors are more evenly spread out around the park, to avoid any congestion and ensure maximum protection for our visitors and staff. Therefore we will ask that you stick to your allocated arrival time. If the time you wish to come is not available please look to book for another day.
Entrance will not be permitted for any visitor, including Annual Members, if they haven’t booked a time slot.
What is currently open and closed around the park?
OPEN: Outdoor animal areas, Step Through Time Dinosaur walk, outdoor play areas, gift shop, takeaway food & drink.
CLOSED: All indoor areas (excluding the gift shop) and animal enclosure walkthroughs.
OPEN FROM THE 17TH MAY 2021: all outdoor areas as stated above and Reptile Room / Ocean Voyage, Adventures Barn, Dino Barn, Farmyard Safari walkthrough and barn, indoor picnic / takeaway seating area. Please note that indoor play areas and itinerary activities are still closed.
Will any encounters and the dino train be running?
Due to government guidelines, we have been advised that no timed public activities can currently take place. Therefore, no animal encounters or the dino land train etc. will be running.
If I or a member of my household have Covid-19 symptoms on the day that I have booked to visit what should I do?
It is really important that you please stay home and DO NOT visit All Things Wild. If you already have booked your online tickets, please email us on [email protected] and they will come back to you about moving your booking, subject to availability.
How long can I stay at the park?
You are welcome to stay at the zoo up until closure from the time of your allocated arrival timeslot. Please check our opening hours.
Will there be food & drinks available to purchase on site?
Limited food and drinks can be purchased from a takeaway outlet in the park.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, visitors are more than welcome to bring picnics to enjoy during their visit. We do have plenty of outdoor picnic benches to use, however none of these are undercover. There are also various spots to place picnic rugs on areas of grass, where you can still uphold social distancing. Please be aware that due to the one-way system in place, you will only be able to exit the park to go back to your car after completing the one way route. You will be given stickers upon arrival, so this allows for re-entry after returning to the car if needed.
Am I be required to wear a face mask?
Face masks are not needed when exploring the outdoor areas, however they are required by law if visiting the gift shop or collecting food from indoor areas (excluding exemptions and children under the age of 11). Please see official details of the law and exemptions here
Am I able to bring balls etc. to play with?
You are welcome to bring your own football and sandpit toys (to enjoy in your group of 6 or 2 households only) at our sandpits and in the Wild Meadow.
I have a question but cannot get through on the phone – what can I do?

Do annual members get an extension due to lockdowns?
If your annual membership was valid during any of our closure periods, you will automatically receive an extension. Please keep your existing membership cards, as they will need to be presented upon arrival. We are not re-issuing new cards with your new expiry date. Please email [email protected] stating the name on your membership and the expiry date on your card, and someone will get back to you to confirm your new expiry date. Staff will be aware of your new expiry date upon arrival.
Can I purchase an annual membership?
Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty and everchanging guidelines surrounding COVID, we have made the decision to stop selling annual passes for the foreseeable future.
Can I book a birthday party for 2021?
We are not currently taking any bookings for parties, however we are working towards the aim of restarting party bookings from the 21st June 2021 (in line with further restrictions being lifted following the government roadmap). This is in constant review and we will provide any updates as soon as we have them.
Can I book an experience for 2021?
We are hoping to resume the booking of experience days from the 17th May 2021 (in line with further restrictions being lifted following the government roadmap). This is in constant review and we will provide any updates as soon as we have them. Experiences can still be purchased as vouchers, to be used at a later date – please visit our experiences page for more details.
The government require us to maintain all visitor data for a period of 21 days following the visit, in order that we can track and trace any individuals as required by the NHS. We will not contact you for any other purpose, unless you have opted in to receive further communication from us, in accordance with GDPR regulations.
